Beautiful restaurant near Sundance Square. The Hostess was really welcoming and helpful. Our waitress did a good job too. We started with the Tuna Tartare - good way to start. We shared half orders of the lobster mac and garlic Parmesan fries. Lobster mac was flavorful and decent sized chunks of lobster. The fries were ok, didn't taste garlic or Parmesan. The waitress was detailed in her explanation of our entrees and we selected Arctic Char and Branzino. The Arctic char was definitely like eating salmon, flavors were good and balanced. Branzino was interesting since we had never seen it severed like that before, but it was also another good choice. I don't remember the name of the dessert, but it was like a lemon cheesecake and our fav dish of the night.
Unbelievably good! Fantastic food and service !! I can't believe I have lived here for 30 years and didn't know about this place !!
Happy hour is amazing with great deals! Went during Christmas and the place was cutely decorated for the holidays. Sat at the bar and had very attentive service from the bartender. He made sure to get us another drink order before the end of happy hour. Food wise did The Dirty Dozen (6 different east coast oysters), Oysters Sundance, and the White Cheddar and Roasted Corn Hushpuppies. Every bite was delicious, and I wanted more of everything.
Very nice atmosphere and provides a feel that you're in a high end restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We started with a cocktail and our server helped guide us. We had the halibut with gnocchi, which was very good. And the baramundi with crawfish and cajun stuffing. Both were done just right, not dry and very good. We did order a bottle of wine with our meal. The menu stated 2019. We were brought a 2022. We requested what was on the menu, they later returned with they didn't have it. So we changed to a year 20 of another. They came back with a 21. By this time we had been served our food and had no wine, so I just took what they had. Note to the management, please, please, please ensure your wine menu matches your inventory. Wine vintages matter and are priced accordingly. A 19 is not a 22. A 20 is not 21. Other than the wine mixup, we had a very nice dinner. Great food, great service. I'd recommend others here if they're looking for good seafood. Just pay attention to the wine.
Perhaps adding an additional review - there was another excellent dinner held here for the 8th Annual Texas A&M IP Scholars Roundtable. Their appetizer of the gumbo was excellent, and their bread as well as hush puppies were also great as appetizers (especially with that flavored butter). The Arctic Char was additionally great, particularly with that cream sauce. The icebox lemon cheesecake for dessert was also exceptional. Service also prompt and attentive (one of the waiters was even scraping crumbs off the table with a knife just to show the devotion to attention to detail that the staff exhibits). Also very cool and stylish interior ambience. Waters never disappoints!
I had my first visit to this location and I loved the ambiance. However, they were out of ingredients for two classic cocktails that I wanted to order - the Sazerac and Aviation. I ended up getting an Old Fashioned instead. I hope they make sure to have popular cocktails available for guests in the future. Moving on to the food, the crab cake was amazing, worth the $22 despite its small size, and the arugula salad was incredibly flavorful. The filet mignon was delicious with its salted crust and truffle butter, and the dirty rice that came with it was a great pairing. Lastly, the coffee crème brûlée was good, although I prefer the original flavor. Overall, this was one of the best places I've been to. I'm willing to make the 45-50 minute drive back for the larger filet. Special thanks to the waitresses Janelle and Courtney for making our first visit amazing. We will definitely be returning!
We have only stopped at Waters for drinks prior to tonight but we finally had time to enjoy dinner here! We arrived around 5p to take advantage of the great pricing on their happy hour menu. We started with a dozen oysters for less than $25 and also enjoyed their fresh baked bread and butter prior to ordering our dinner. My husband isn't the biggest seafood eater so he tried their burger (from their HH Menu) with a side salad along with their garlic fries--- he thought the burger was the best of the three. Side note: we think their ketchup is homemade but forgot ask... really tasty! I had the halibut with sweet potato "gnocchi". Halibut was perfectly cooked but I could pass on the gnocchi... not the greatest. I would love to compliment the service staff. The just was so kind as well as our waitress/bartender. She helped us make our final choices and we never had to ask for anything. Huge thanks to her for making our experience so enjoyable! We will most definitely add Waters to our date night rotation!
I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and I'm SO glad we finally did. All the food was so excellent that we tore into it before I could snap more photos! The arctic char was perfectly cooked and flavorful, the tuna tartare was fresh, but our favorite dish was their fried goat cheese and heirloom tomato salad. A. MUST. TRY. It's definitely an elevated, mature version of a fried cheese stick. And the service matched the food! Very attentive and friendly staff. It's upscale so expect to pay more, but it was well worth it.
What a great experience. We booked our reservation Open Table, with a note of our anniversary. We were greeted and anniversary acknowledged, sweet treat and when leaving the hostess even remembered and said it again. Such a nice touch. Service was fantastic. And when I requested a sangria, not normally on the menu, they made me one and it was super tasty. We did the seafood tower, a great deal for everything on it and a wonderful way to sample so many great items. Also... who knew shrimp cups could be so good. Oysters, large shrimp, ahi tuna, ceviche. Do it. Bread was delicious. For my dinner, I got the goat cheese salad... wow, it's as yummy as everyone said on here and the crab cakes (2). He got the gumbo, full of meaty goodness and a 12 ounce lobster tail. And we did the large lobster mac. It was good but not a knock out. Everything else was amazing. Highly recommend. So close to sundance square and a lovely stroll.
We sat on the patio for Saturday HAPPY HOUR and it was fabulous, I cannot recommend more! Such a large selection of food and drinks on the happy hour menu, something for everyone (seafood of course!). The garlic butter oysters on the happy hour menu were by far the best thing we ate - and I don't like raw oysters! The service was fabulous - we will be back for happy hour.
